    PRESQUE ISLE — Summer paving on Main Street was the topic of a special public meeting, held Monday night at City Hall, with city and Maine Department of Transportation officials on hand to answer questions and address concerns put forth by members of the public.

Councilors authorize city’s moving expenses

    PRESQUE ISLE — Plans continue to move forward for the relocation of City Hall, following City Council’s Jan. 20 meeting to discuss and vote on moving expenses. Present for the meeting were Council Chair Emily Smith, Council Vice Chair Mike Chasse and Councilors Pete Hallowell, Leigh Smith, Craig Green and Randy Smith.

11th annual Northern Star fundraiser kicks off Friday

    PRESQUE ISLE — The 11th annual Northern Star regional singing competition, which serves as a fundraiser for the United Way of Aroostook, kicks off Friday night in the St. John Valley. Productions in Presque Isle and Houlton will follow Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

    PRESQUE ISLE — Having a mammogram at TAMC on Wednesday, Feb. 4 pays in more ways than one as the medical center, in partnership with the Aroostook County Action Program’s Healthy Aroostook project and Daigle Oil Co., mark World Cancer Day by providing CITGO gas cards to those who receive the breast health screening.
