Council discusses Community Center bid specs

    PRESQUE ISLE — Councilors will meet tonight (Wednesday, Nov. 19) at 6 p.m. to continue discussing signing a contract with Harriman Associates (with offices in Auburn, Portland, and Manchester, N.H.) to prepare Community Center bid specs, following a presentation Monday night by City Manager Jim Bennett on the project’s status.

Lilley was part of an announcement made last Friday in which The County’s four hospitals and the United Way of Aroostook will team up to help put a new book in the hands of families with infants and toddlers each and every month.

Future Maysville Museum now ‘weatherproof’

    NEW WINDOWS WERE INSTALLED last week at the Maysville Museum in Presque Isle. Located at the corner of U.S. Route 1 and the Brewer Road, the museum will be dedicated to the history of Maysville, the Aroostook War, Presque Isle’s two Granges and its 21 one-room schoolhouses. Prepping for the window installation is Stephen Boucher, an employee of A&L Construction, as Rick Nadeau, owner of the local construction company, looks on.

    PRESQUE ISLE — Clint Deschene and Gehrig Johnson were unanimously appointed at last Wednesday night’s SAD 1 board meeting as assistant superintendent for business and superintendent, respectively.
