to raise funds for polio eradication

    PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle and the Presque Isle Rotary Club are joining forces to host their third annual World Polio Day and Purple Pinkie Project celebration, and this year, with the help of the Rotary Clubs in Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Limestone and Washburn, the celebration is going to spread throughout central Aroostook County.

Haunted Lantern Tours

    PRESQUE ISLE — The Presque Isle Historical Society will be offering its fourth annual Haunted Lantern Tours on Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25. This year, the tours will be offered both as walking tours and as trolley tours. In addition, some new characters from Presque Isle’s history may be making an appearance.

    PRESQUE ISLE — Among the 130 guests who attended the Oct. 14 unveiling/dedication ceremony of the bronze wildcat sculpture in honor of SAD 1 Superintendent Gehrig Johnson was the award-winning artist who created the piece, Andreas von Huene of Arrowsic.

    PRESQUE ISLE — Prepared with gloves, boots and warm clothing, students of Cornerstone Christian Academy recently visited the Aroostook State Farm and had the opportunity for a true Aroostook County harvest experience — the fine art of potato picking.
