Summer weather made holding events on regular basis difficult

MOTHER NATURE gave Presque Isle a break, the rain stopped and folks descended on the Star City’s main drag for food, live music and fun as part of Mondays on Main. While there was plenty to do and see, some folks like this bicycle rider made their own entertainment.

THE SAD 1 administration’s call for more public input fell on deaf ears and in a few short moments Wednesday evening a third budget was agreed upon, clearing the way for a third referendum to take place on September 13 in the district communities. October event offers resources for families

PRESQUE ISLE — Family members, educators and professionals who live and work with autistic individuals will soon have the opportunity to gain valuable resources and greater understanding of the individuals we aim to support thanks to the grassroots efforts of the Aroostook Autism Support Group. The first Aroostook County Autism Conference will take place on Friday, Oct. 7, at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Street fair kicks off Balloon Fest

Thursday event is ‘fresh from the farm’

PRESQUE ISLE — Maine farms and their produce will be celebrated during the 2016 Crown of Maine Balloon Fest Street Fair, which takes place Thursday, Aug. 25, on Main Street in Presque Isle, starting at 4 p.m.
Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic, also starting at 4, from Riverside and Blake streets at the northern end to Academy Street at the southern end.
